2018 Rosé of Cabernet Franc
Contra Costa County
This Rosé of Cabernet Franc is from a sustainably-farmed vineyard nestled in a windy corner of Contra Costa County, near Mount Diablo. Winds coming off the Sacramento Delta keep the grapes cool during the growing season, preserving acidity in the wine.
The Cabernet Franc was hand-picked on August 16th and whole-cluster pressed. The rosé fermented in stainless steel with native yeast and then aged for six months in neutral oak barrels (formerly used for red wine). The wine is vibrant and fresh, with notes of strawberries, shiso leaf and celery salt.
