2018 Napa AlbariñoStewart Ranch
Sourced from Stewart Ranch, one of the first vineyards to plant Albariño in the U.S. and the first in Napa Valley. It is also Napa’s lowest elevation vineyard at 6 feet above sea level! A cool and windy site surrounded by a wildlife refuge, the three acres of Albariño planted here border the Napa River before feeding into the San Pablo Bay.
The Albariño was hand-picked on September 13th, whole-cluster pressed and fermented with native yeast. The wine then aged on its lees for ten months in neutral oak before bottling. Influenced by its maritime location, this crisp wine abounds with salinity and subtle notes of crushed stones, plum and green apple.
